View Full Version : T-shirt Contest Voting

Please vote for your favorite Folding T-Shirt Design. I would recommend not voting until all the pictures are up and working, so please hold off until then. Thanks. The last day to vote is May 28th.
If I missed your design, pm me.
It is easy to vote just choose what number you want and vote that number in the poll.

Entry #1
Front of T. Would work on any shirt if the right transfer is used. Or since it's one color it could be mass-produced through screen printing in black or white.

The first few look like boobies on the front. I like them, but I couldn't wear it.

I wish we could combine the front of #1 onto the back of #2. That "fold like your life depended on it" is really cool.

Yeah, less like boobs would help too.

I cant see any of the submissions with the raster graphics or complex vingettes coming out very well when put on a tshirt, especially if they are going to be screen printed. I say stick to something simple like the plain black and white university design or #7 the ribbon design, just my 2 cents.

I would agree, however, since those submissions made it this far I would assume that they were already approved for something like screen printing. Am I right Timsedt and Linksep? I hope they were approved, or else we might be reducing the poll to 2 entries very quickly, hehe.

looks like #2 is in the lead....not my fav as the OC does look like boobies and the protein, well I like the single protein as listed in 3...my fav was number 9...very to the point, no protein hex to confuse people.......would be the one I'd pay for....number 10 would be my second choice

I really can't decide at all btwn 1 and 2... I think we should do both of them, just have 2 shirts. I know I would buy both if that was the case.

Scary_Penguin

I know that submissions are over, but I dont think that Captain Slug would have a problem if in the end, a shirt was produced with his front and my back. And these wont be screenprinted, they will be printed on the heat-press transfers, which allow the high-detail images to stay nice and bright :) At least, that was the understanding I got from Capt. Slug and linksep.

Edit: CrashOverride, i think that the top two shirts are going to be made, as per the original thread from linksep and Tismedt.

I'm leaning towards #6 myself but I wear a lot of athletic apperal anyways.... # 2 does look like boobies but perhaps would look better being small and not in the middle of the shirt.

Well, we'll have to see how many people are gong to buy... I don't have $$$ to get a bunch made and sell them every now and then. I can make them myself (iorn on) or have them screen printed (my Dad owns an ad specialties company) or even 4-color printed (again via Dad). Someone else posted in one of the other T-shirt threads about knowing someone in the business too. First thing is to choose a design (or 2) and go from there.

I like #8 but would like a black shirt option.

I don't think I'd look good in #2.

johan851
05-24-04, 02:28 AM
My perfect shirt would be...

The "Fold Team 32 Like Your Life Depended On It" Logo thing from #1 on the back, with a less boob-like version from the front of #2 on the front.

Could that blue PCB looking stuff be extended outside of the "OC"? I think that would take less attention off of the circular aspect of it, especially if the PCB faded out in a somewhat random shape.

fletch
05-24-04, 11:40 AM
^^ The other designs seem better, but I would turn that into black if need be.

Why are #8 and #9 the only two not visible except by link?

Scary_Penguin

They're attachments from another post, linked to avoid redundancy I think.

dam thing wont let me vote! I like #7 the best looks professional which is the most important thing

I like the front of #1 but the back is to complex

@md0Cer
05-24-04, 12:44 PM
I like number 8

It just seems more simple and just good looking to me. I think for the logo on the front it would be neat if it was similar to the old forums logo and said www.overclockers.com or something below it. Or team 32.

And I'd say, notche the price a bit and spend the profits on Nedclocker!

What are you guys thinking? #10 is definately the most professional looking, and it will work on almost any color of shirt as well. ;)

Screen printing would actually cost more in the kind of quantities we're looking at so I didn't bother with any monochromatic designs. Even if you get nice quality Ts, you can make each shirt with iron-on transfers for around $6 or $7 shipped.

Screen printing only becomes inexpensive in quantities above 200 and I don't think any of use want to invest that much money.

Another option (which I've done before) is to offer to sell just the transfers as well. The customer could choose a few transfers and mix and match and apply as they see fit to whatever clothing item they want.

Correct. I wouldn't mind if any of my designs were mixed with others provided they work together as a whole shirt.

Scary_Penguin

Mixing and Matching transfers and selling those would be neat too, yes. :)

fletch
05-25-04, 12:29 PM
Single color (sometimes two color) screen printing isn't overly expensive in quantities ~1-2 dozen. Each additional color incurs another screen setup fee however, and those add up real quick.

In reference to what Captain Slug was saying about transfers and such. Don't transfers suck? I was under the impression they fade and peel away pretty quickly. Thats why screen printing would be much better, at least they would last, even if it costs more, its worth it. Am I right? I am not a shirt expert here, so someone please explain this to me. Thanks.

Iron-on Transfers last a long time if

a) you remember to NEVER USE BLEACH
b) turn the shirt inside out before washing
c) NEVER iron the shirt

I have several I made myself and they still look as good as new a year later. Screen printing is better for single color shirts where heavy wear is involved. But in order to offer those someone would have to invest in more than 2 dozen.

Inside out, hahah, thats the key. That must be why they never work for me. Ok, thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

Wow, Thanks! I didn't expect to win at all, so I dunno what to say, hah :) I want to say thank you to Captain Slug for all of his advice and his contributions to the design, and thank you to Tismedt, linksep, and mdcomp for putting this thing in motion. I really hope these shirts turn out well!

For those of you that really liked #7, I can email you a high-res image for either white or black if you would like to print it out and make your own shirt, since I know they will not be mass produced. (So long as this is ok with the contest starters.)

Once again, thank you!
