I have a problem with my frame rates.

My most recent score on 3d mark 2003 was 2490 and based on my system specs it should be much higher:

Win XP Pro
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.2ghz, and newest CPU Driver installed)
Corsair 512MB DDR Ram 3200
160GB Maxtor 7200RPM HDD
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard (latest bios and VIA drivers
Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis 128MB (lastes driver from ati website, not WIndows website)

Well, the first problems were terrible scores overall, cpu score was real bad too so i installed the latest drivers and the core has gone up a lot.

Now my main concern is the GPU. Initially it was at AGP 0X, for some strange reason and with the XP drivers for the card it went up to 4X. WIth the drivers from ATI it has gone up to 8X which is where it is still at now.

But the frame rate is still terribly bad. my average frame rate for the last 3 of four game tests in 3d mark 2003 is somethign like 8-19 fps. What have i done wrong? does anyoen know why the card is running so poorly?

please help.... i'm going mad from this

Thanks in advance

I think thats about normal for the 9600 on 03. 03 is very video card dependent, unlike 01. And the 9600 isnt that great of a card.

Well I guess I should have asked this first but what 9600 do you have, pro, non pro, xt?

yes, this should be normal. a 9600 pro can score ~3000, i suppose you don't have pro, so ~2500 would be likely.
