i just borrowed this game from a friend, and he is leaving for boot camp the 7th...he says i can hang on to it till he gets back.

Now, the problem is, when i go to run the game, it wants disk 1. i put it in. it thm loads something, and asks for disk 3. so i put that in. Then it crashes, and says incert the correct disk and hit ok to restart application.
no matter what disk i put in at this point, hitting ok does nothing.

right now my computer is all torn appart and i had to pull screwes to get my secondary IDE cable un managed enough to get 2 spare cdroms attatchd to the computer, so i can have both disks 1 and 3 at the same time.

to get power to these drives my intake fans have ben cut off.

as aggrivating as this is, it works...and i'm playing it. (i got online ot find cheats and make this post)

is there any way i could set it up so i dont have to do this? i dont want 2 cdroms in this computer, i like my lite on combo. (only black drive i have)

i had this problem with older games, and an image and a simple virtual cdrom drive workd....it doesnt seem to work for this game, i guess the cd protection is advanced. (i tried this with both cloneCD and alchohol 120, niether works.)

has anyone else had this problem? a search diddnt help.
thanks.

I would recommend reinstalling and then download the update from here (http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.htm?dlId=492) if you haven't tried that yet.

im having the same problem except i cant get sc to start at all, it will load the single/multi screen and after i select it brings me to the desktop to display a splash screen and then offer to send an error report to microcult

im wondering if it has something to do with being installed on a partition that does not contain my OS

that may do it, i have it installed on my os partition and it worked...ish.

i hate having my computer torn apart to play this game, but i'll get over it. once i beat it i'll give it back and that will be the end of that.

What i DID see, is in the "offline" folder of the game, you can load the single player mission, its its own program. (look up binding cheats to keys, it will give you the directory...i think its \offline\system)

then you dont need the origonal menu....untill to try and exit the game. i dont know if this will work with only one cd or not, it should work, but so should have the image/virtual drive thing.
