i have an nf7-s rev 2 and a mobile barton 2500+ the processor can do upto 2650 mhz, so i have a target FSB range of 227 - 240. i need a gig of ram, so i'm going to sell all my bh-5, and i was wondering what i should replace this with?

i am looking for 2 x 512 sticks, and high fsb at the tightest possible timmings.

i've been looking at ocz 3500eb, gold 3700 v. 2., or scoring some cheap hynix 43's off of value ram.

i would like to run 2.5,3,3,X at a bare minumum inside my target FSB range. anything tighter is a plus.

and would 2.5, 4, 4, x be that much worse?

Well I would go for the EB it will go plenty high at 2.5,3,2,8. The BT43 stuff does not go low enough for an AMD system unless you get lucky but even then its rare. I can't speak for the v.2 for sure but isn't that comings with BH-6 now? If so then it would be more of a downgrade from BH-5 or at least an equal but it may not o/c as well.

rank for that fsb performance wise:
1-bh5 (2-2-2-11)
2-ocz EB (2.5-2-2-11)?
3-hynix-d43(2.5-3-3-11)?

Keep in mind your abit may not be able to reach 240fsb. Some top out around 220, some around 230. Freak boards (or ones highly modified) go 240+. Also keep in mind the bh5 will probably need a volt mod to do 230+ at those timings.
Have fun :)

The mushkin 222 special (BH6) will go easy if you have the voltage. You got to take above about 2.9v to get over the regulator, after that no prob. Also I can run 2222 with it @ 245 FSB with 3.3v.

thanks guys!

i'm going to rid myself of these 256 mb bh-5 sticks and my hynix 6 ns modules and get some hyper x 3000 512's i think. i have them in town for an ok price, and i'll save about 100$ over getting the ocz eb 3700 1 gb kit.

There's almost no point in selling your BH-5 for Bh-5 3000.

The Gold is for the 865 and the 875 chipset!
