HELP.... i need a good video card

i have only like 50 or 60 bucks to spend (shipping is not a problem cuz; i intend to buy from my local computer shop) but i need a video card. not a new video card, a video card, i have been using the onboard graphics......and frankly, its getting old. there is a prosavege ddr graphics chip on my board. obviously anything is better.

What games are you going to be playing? If you're sticking with DX8 games I'd recommend a Ti4200 for your budget.

9200's are crap. You'd be much better off with a Radeon 9100 (higher IQ but lower fps) or a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (great FPS, not the best IQ though). Neither will run DX9 games the best, but they're super cheap and do very well with DX8 and lower games.

a Ti4200 would deffinitely rock, but you would have to use eBay to get it for your budget.

In most cases, it will be within 5% speed of a ti, and its much easier to get one of these. Plus, AF is virtualy free, and textures are sharper on it. I have a slower clocked one in my 2nd pc and it runs farcry at 800x600, medium details at more than playable framerates.

Can you access the agp slot even though you have onboard graphics? I think you'll need a pci card...

i do have have an agp slot, but a new question has come to me, with my price range would it be better to get a agp card or a pci card, i would like to get the best possible performance, overall. i can spend a few extra bucks but not much.
so in short what would be more cost/performance effective, an agp or a pci card

AGP, hands down. If you have an AGP slot, use it! PCI cards will usually be more expensive, since they're more of an oddity. Performance-wise, PCI cards border on uselessness. There's a reason you don't see any PCI Radeon 9800s, aside from low demand, you know.
