IF I have a Duron, can I use a 64 MB PC100 stick alaong with 1 256MB PC 133 stick? Would performance be affected?

If the 2 memory's get along ok you will only be able to run a high a fsb and fast memory timings as the slower of the 2(the 64mb 100).

The ram sticks should get along just fine. But your going to be stuck at 100mhz bus speed. The slower stick (100mhz) probably won't be able to handle 133mhz FSB so your system won't work. If you want to see alot of ram in your system stick with the 256 and 64mb chips at 100mhz FSB speed. I think your system will run faster if you drop the 64mb chip and just use the 256mb chip at 133mhz. This is assuming that your processor and board will suport a 133mhz FSB. If it won't then your stuck at 100mhz either way.

Like he said he's got a Duron.... which means, at minimum, he can run his memory bus at 133 MHz.....

What OS are you running? If you're running Win98 that extra 64 MB of RAM wont make any difference anyway, but running a 133 MHz memory bus would. If you're running 2K or Linux, I'd leave it in.
