Case question

Is it really necessary to have a special case for good cooling? I'm about to gett an globalwin fop38 hsf; will it make a big difference from my standard cooler, even if i have an standard computer case?

you need to have good case airflow. You can take cheap cases and mod them to get the airflow. That being said the Fop 38 is going to be huge improvement over what you had.
