View Full Version : GF2MX default memory & core speed
What is the default memory & core speed of the GF2MX? Does the Blue Orb fit? I just mildly overclocked my system & it seems like the video card is bugging out on me. Sometimes I don't even get a signal at first boot! Any clues?

Depends on if it has SDR or DDR memory.
Also depends on who made it. Some manufacturers raised the default memory speed from the reference design.
I believe the SDR specs are 175core and 166mem. If you are running the coolbits hack, there is a "reset default" box, or you could just disable the box that allows overclocking (which reverts the card to default).
All I have is the plain old GF2MX 32SDRAM(asus v7100) with just a passive heatsink on the GPU & nothin' on the ram. I just shifted back to 1.1GHz 200FSB to get it to boot up normally. I'm planning to get the Blue Orb to cool the GPU,seems like it's the bottleneck of the system. With mild overclocking do I need to put heatsinks on the ram? Anything else I should know?
HELP!!! I want the stay at 1.2GHz @ 266FSB but the video card won't boot up sometimes. Whats the 3.3V value for? VIAhm says the 3.3V=3.54V

Sonny, it sounds like your AGP divider doesn't like the higher FSB speeds.
For a more detailed explanation, look at Overclocker's video card cooling (http://www.overclockers.com/topiclist/index29.asp#VIDEO CARD COOLING AND PERFORMANCE)
Hope this helps!
There's a list of all the video cards and models here (http://www.rivastation.com/vgacharts_e.htm).

The GeForce 2 MX when it was originally released was supposed to have;
-RETAIL-
CORE:175MHz
MEMORY:183MHz
-OEM-
CORE:175MHz
MEMORY:166MHz
anything else for specs means that the company modified the cards to none nVidia specs.
MX 400
-RETAIL-
CORE:200MHz
MEMORY:200MHz
-OEM-
CORE:200MHz
MEMORY:166MHz

LOL, riva station is on crack!
check out that link you posted,
for TNT2 both the original and ultra have the same MHz. Thats b$.
TNT2 = 125MHz
TNT2 Ultra = 150MHz
what are the driving values 00h-FFh? is there a list that I can get to be able to force the card with a stronger driving value?
