Mother Board part for a Vaio

Well as the subject says, i need a part for a sony Vaio, a friend of mine loned out his lap top and they broke the mic jack on the board, I took it all apart witch was a real pain but there is a peice of metal missing out of it, so i was thinking ill just find another jack thing for it and desodder the old one and sodder the new one on and it would be as good as new, but im wondering where i could get that part.......?

Hummm ~bump~, i really need some help finding this part so i can get his laptop back together before i forget how it goes back together and so i can get his lap top back to him......................

oops! I posted a reply but accidentally posted it in another thread, haha...

So you're basically trying to find a surface mount mic jack to resolder onto instead of the mic jack that broke?

Well, I don't know about any electronics places that may carry it, search allelectronics.com and digikey for what you are looking for they may have something...

if worse comes to worse, I can scrounge up a mic port from an old mobo really esaily for you, if you don't have one laying around.

I hope you're confident about your soldering skills, I'd pee my pants thinkinga bout soldering on a new mic jack to a lappy mobo.
