Are there any benefits or drawbacks, other than the obvious(having two cpus) of running a dual machine for folding?
There's a couple people on ebay selling matched pair CPUs. PIII Xeons between 600MHz and 700MHz and AthalonMPs between 1600+ and 2000+. I've always wanted a dual processor system, and this seemed like a good excuse to finally build one.
Too bad the mobo for a quad cpu core runs almost 2 grand. =\

no drawback, only doubled points!

I'd don't see any drawbacks other than costs.

I fold on a dual XP rig (probably the best bang for the buck duallie setup) and everything works fine. I just run two instances of folding.

The processors for dual machines are cheap it's the mother board that gets expensive. I recently got a dual P3 Server with a broken IDE controller. wish I had money to get a controller card to get it running.

hey i was wondering, how do u run multiple instances of F@H? I have a P4 W/HT computer that is sitting in my brothers room folding right now (he moved out). Thats pretty much all i does, but how do i run 2 of them so it uses the HT technology more efficiently??
