First I started off with a sheet of removable sticky paper, and I printed my clan (http://www.chaosextreme.com) logo on that.

Then I carefully cut it out and aligned it on the plexiglass.

With the paper attched to the plexi I got out my not-so trusty dremel and a burr tip and went to work. I read that a ball burr is recommended for etching plexi, but all I had was a cylinderical burr tip. I think in the end this worked better as I was able to take the edge of the cylinder to make the sharp edges of the logo.

Now I just need to get some LED lighting specifically for the etch.

Note: Guess I forgot to uplaod the pic's with my cathode, I'll have to update later.

I think with some more light behind that it will show it off alot better

Ok, so I finally started to look around the house for anything with a red LED or two that I wasn't using and found one of my daughters old happy meal toys. I cut it apart, ripped it's eyes (LED) out. Put the LED into a molex (5V), and promtly killed a good LED.
So after some research and a trip to the electronics store, I had 2 brand new LED's. I had a bunch of resistors a clanmate had given me a while ago. Anyways I finished up my window etch. Now I just need to figure out how to use my camera...

awwwww, that looks pretty sweet
where did you put the led to make it glow like that?

did you place the led's behind it, or just aimed at it?

I used my dremel to gouge out a couple of slots into the arcylic, about the size of the LED's. Then I tucked in the LED's with some glue into the slots and wired 'em up. It was a little ghetto, so I didnt take pics, but I can if you want to see.

So I got my tech info from theledlight (http://www.theledlight.com/ledcircuits.html). I used that to find what resistor I needed and how to wire it all up. The wires are soldered and the LED's are glued to the case wall. THe circuit is just sandwiched between 2 pieces of duct tape to prevent it from shorting on the case wall.
In the pic, the white is a rough idea where the edge of the acrylic is. The red is the LED's embedding in the acrylic and the blue is the + & - of the 12v molex.
Hope this helps.

I have always been afraid to do my own sketching cause I thought it would turn out like crap. Yours looks really nice and I think I may have to try my own sometime :D.

Great job man!

Thanks for the compliments.
I figured the paper would prevent me from sratching where I didn't want to. But paper wont stop a dremmel even at 7500rpm. :p
