Not sure if this has been addressed but i'm having a weird problem. I have an 80 gb hard drive installed on the primary ide channel of my mobo and a dvd burner and cd rom on my secondary ide channel. The hard drive is set as master and the 2 drives are set as slave. When i start windows i get this error "Secondary IDE no 80 conductor cable installed" and when in windows programs won't detect them. Does anyone know how to fix this?

With two drives on one channel, you'd still have to set one as a master. Check your jumpers. Might be different settings for 'master single' and 'master w/ slave'.

Yea, so set whichever CD drive is plugged into the top plug on the IDE cable to master, and keep the other one on slave.
Each channel (primary and secondary) must either have one drive set as master, or two drives set as a master and a slave.

Even if I set 1 to master and 1 to slave I still get the same error. It's weird under My Computer I can see both of the drives and access them and I can even boot windows off of them, but as soon as I try to run Nero it tells me that I have no drives connected period. It will only let me use an image drive.
