I have a PII 266 with Windows 2000 and 64mb RAM that I'm trying to install a rather new HP OfficeJet 4100 USB printer on.
I went through the whole process of installing the driver (100+ mb driver) and it got to the end where it was actually going to install the printer itself, and it ended with an error message, saying something like "The printer was not successfully installed. Access is Denied". I called the HP tech support, and the guy said it was becuase I had so little RAM...so I should add more.
Could that ACTUALLY be the reason for the problem??? It seems very far fetched. Before I actually buy more RAM can anyone tell me if his solution seems plausable? In the My Computer properties, it says I have just 10mb free...but I have a big enough page file.
