ok i'm getting many random reboots guys. i've gone to the event logger and tracked it to the following picture. after searching microsofts database, it says its a problem that should of been fixed in SP1. I HAVE SP1! this leads me to believe i have a screwed up version of SP1. anyone know how i could reinstall it or whatever i need to do? thank you very much in advance.
p.s. like my computer name? lol
Have you overclocked your computer? Lower the settings, or it could be soem virus that came in and destroyed some stuff.

i got a new hdd a couple weeks ago. as i was installing XP pro, it went to the same blue screen i'm still getting every once in awhile when it reboots or crashes. also, within 5 minutes after i had XP pro installed on the hdd, it was doing it. that rules out the virus. also, it was doing it before i oc'd and now i'm barely oc'd. i'll still lower settings and see...

Just because you changed the HD doesn't rule out the possibility of a virus. Some of the little buggers reside in memory, or even on the mobo itself, especially if its an older mobo without integrated write protection.
Anyway, that problem sounds alot like something that one of my friends used to have. Things to check:
Make sure your proc is idling at a decent temp, and that your computer has sufficient room to "breathe".
Second, try to track down a friend who has a similar proc to you, and offer them some sort of a temp. trade if you can try to troubleshoot your computer with their proc.
As I said, one of my friends had a similar problem, and it turned out to be caused by their proc, so they eventually bought a new one.

well before i got the HDD i got a brand new NF7 like a week before lol. also the proc. is a 2400+ and it worked fine on another comp it was in. and when i got this new hdd, i set it up as a slave to my old hdd and i installed XP pro on both hdd's so i could transfer the files form the old hdd to the new. when i was running the old hdd with XP pro (instead of XP home which i had on it before) it was working fine. i'm 99.9% positive its a problem with the OS. no matter how i set things up since i've had XP pro (which i got from a friend...its a burned CD) its been doin this. I think it just has a problem within SP1. i think if i can reinstall SP1 it will fix it. i could of course go to SP2 and have the same effect but i dunno if i wanna do that yet

Hmm... THis problem is with XP Pro, right? WHen you were reinstalling it, did you do a reformat before reloading the OS? If you still want to try and reload SP1, I'll send another post with information on how to do that, assuming its possible.

Got info about that problem for ya, Mirage_03. Its being caused by faulty drivers of some sort. You may want to contact the manufacturer of the computer part you most recently purchases before the errors started, and talk to their tech team about them.
