I'm not hearing good things about the win2k ATI drivers. Can anyone debunk this or is it an urban legend? I'm getting 512 megs ram and it's almost a waste to have to load 98SE to get decent drivers.

I've got the Radeon 64 Meg DDR

But I think all the drivers are the same.

Mine runs just fine in Win2K. It's multiprocessor to boot.

I have had really bad experience with ATI's beta drivers, though. Screen always goes blank when my logon box comes up. Certified drivers work perfectly though.

It urban legend spurred by nVidia fans around the world to try and slow ATI's world domination.

Actually it runs fine. ATI had problems before with drivers and most of the people who say that they are having problems with the Radeon either have never actually had one in their machine or have something else that causing the problems.

Like Jon, I also run a Radeon 64DDR in 2K with dual CPU's. Not a single problem with ATI's supported drivers. There are alot of other 3rd party drivers out there and some of them suck, but you use them at your own risk from the start.

Drivers for W2k have greatly improved. Right now I am using the W2K Beta drivers http://www.rage3d.com/ with windows xp and they work great if you want to try beta I highly recommend rage3D.
