Problems using Maxijet Inline

I'm enhancing a Koolance case and replacing the pump with a Maxijet 900. The pump works great submerged in the sink but I am having trouble getting it to work inline. Tips? Did you have to seal the case airtight? I noticed it was very easy to spin off the front plate and open it up, and there are a couple of small holes around the case. Also, what are you using for fittings? The Koolance uses 1/4" ID tubing.

I used to use a Maxijet 750, no problems at all. If you're using 1/4" tube especially on the inlet side you will probably get cavitation in the pump (a rattling sound), you should really use an inlet tube size as close as possible to the inlet of the pump (1/2" or 5/8" for the maxijet).
