Did you wipe your harddrive and reinstall the OS after switching the mobo??
If not doing that may fix your problem

i'm surprized it even loaded up! i've never gotten it to do that by switching the MB, and not reinstalling.
Some of the biggest delays can usually be traced to NICs. They always add a layer of time to the boot process.

This has also happened to me, not 3.5 min but it take about 1.5 min now. It happened when I installed MS Visual Studio (I know it was this that casued the prob, because it had happened another time before). The other day though when I was fooling around with my comp. i forgot to plug the mouse back in to the comp and the comp took 15 sec to boot, I was amazed, then I put the mouse back in and back to 1.5 min. I've already messed with msconfig - the startup files and i still get the same prob, it's like when the prog installed it made it caused a delay of some sort. If anyone has any ideas on this please msg me too.
RJ - best of luck, try a clean install that usually will fix it.

well i solved the slow boot problem I took the IDE cable off of the UIDE port and put it on the IDE port takes 30sec now instead of 5min that was the last time I booted up win 2000. Now I have to figure out why its so slow on that UIDE port. Could it be the Highpoint /raid drivers?

I switch hardrives between motherboards all the time, i have a little 1 gig that i use for emergancys, like if mine crashes and im out a hardrive i use the 1 gig, and that has been passed between about 3 motherboards and ive never had any kind of problems. Ill admit the hardrive doesnt like it, it loads all different drivers over and over again, but it always works.

You're real lucky. That is more an exception than the rule.
