View Full Version : Audigy Softmod and Problems with EAX in games

Hey all,

I did the Audigy 1-->2 Softmod and am VERY happy with it! The MP3 sound quality is just great, noticably better than the Audigy 1 softpack.

However, it comes at a price. If I have EAX enabled in games, I have to go to my EAX console and disable EAX effects (I always have "new age" on when listening to tunes). This happens with CS, CS:CZ, and KOTOR. If I do not disable the effect, I get no sound.

Now, I have a couple questions.

1) Is it possible to fix this problem so that I do not have to disable the effects?

2) Is it possible to map some kind of shortcut or easy method of auto-disabling EAX effects?

3) Am I a tool, in that you just can't have EAX effects in games?

Thanks very much all.

Oh yes, and one other thing.

If I try to use the driver updates for an Audigy 2 from Creative's site, it says it can not detect an A2 on my system...any way around this? I'd love to have the up-to-date drivers.

Extract the drivers from the downloaded archive with winrar and use the patcher to hack them..... you wont get that error message anymore. ;)

Thanks man! I had read about using the patch tool on the drivers, but I didn't know how to extract the files (Winrar).

So I updated it, and I think it might have actually fixed my other problem :D I'll do some more testing and come back with an update.
