View Full Version : Confused about memory error, is it bad memory?

i ran microsofts mem tester and after about an hour i got ERAND errors. system specs are in sig. the memory is 10mhz below spec and timings are 11-4-4-3. Does this mean the memory is bad? Or could it be other parts like the FSB or CPU are returning bad data to the memory, indicating my overclock is not stable? i played 2 hours of ut2k4 without hitch this morning.

i dont understand the first part "how you run"?? I ra memtest86+ for 1h 30m with no errors. i have D5 hynix chips, 2.6v, they dont need more.

i apologize for my wording..i meant "HAVE" you run...and if you don't have any errors then you have nothing to worry about

I just finished running memtest86+ v1.15 for 10Hours with zero errors, so i suppose my memory is not causing the problems. Maybe I need to increase my chipset voltage to have 240FSB be stable?

could be the cpu or the chipset . i would bump up the chipset cpu amd the memory voltage a tad since u are overclocking. they all work in conjuction with each other..
also unless they have changed manufacturers on the chips of the kingmax hardcore pc4000, they are provided by micron/ and i think promos too.

they are hynix CT-D5. i dont see why i should up the mem voltage? they are rated up to 500Mhz @ 2.6v. I ran both of Sandra CPU tests continuously for 2 hours and it was stable.

depending on how the mb was made alot of times when u stress it i can affect other things by drawing down current to all the components. this is only a suggestion with the memory since it passes memtest. i like to bump the voltage up a tad to all components when overclocking for stability insurance..
