I was shopping around for some good 256megPC2100 ram. Pricewatch has some cheap generic stuff in the low 30's. The Namebrand stuff seems to run in the middle 40's for 256MEG of PC2100. I found some Corsair PC2400 high density ram that uses 256Mbit chips for about $61.00 at

http://www.memorysuppliers.com/cor25pcddrca.html

Is this stuff the best you can get. I read the review of HIgh speed DDR memory at:

http://www.lostcircuits.com/memory/ddr2/

I got the impression from that article that buying just good PC2100 ram is just as good as buying the PC2400 stuff. I believe that the Corsair PC2400 at memorysuppliers is different from what was tested in the review. I believe the review tested 256meg PC2400 that used 128Mbit chips. This 256MEGPC2400 at memorysuppliers is using 256Mbit chips i think.

The best price I have found for the256meg PC2400 stuff is around
$61. That is only about $15 more than what the name brand PC2100 costs.

I can't even decide what computer case and what type fans to buy <g>. This is ridiculus but fun.

I thought about getting PC 2400 DDR as well. But from most of the reviews I've read most PC 2100 will do over 150mhz FSB, Some need Ram sinks installed to do it, But still get there.

I ordered 256 megs of Crucial PC 2100 DDR from Crucial. It was about $42.00 with free two day shipping. Thats not to bad. Thats about half the price of good PC 2400 DDR.
