some people have been saying that arctic silver is not a good thermal compound under extreme heat and pressusre such as one might find in an ideal pelt setup. i have heard that the greas turned into a thin peace of metal and actualy making heat conduction worse. I have been planing to put thermal greas on both sides of my pelt and on the core to make sure that the best conectoin is made. I am using arctic silver now and as far as i know it has been working beautifuly but know as im taking off my heatsink, overclocking to the moon and slaping a watercooled 172w pelt i don't know what to use. are these stories just myth or has this happened to you as well?   :D

In the four pelt systems I have put together, there has not been a problem. I also have been in contact with a professor Michigan State that is using Arctic Silver in a kryostat at 87K.

Most pelts are a bit concave so be sure to take your dissassemble your block/pelt/coldplate once to check for propper contact.

What is a kryostat. I have heard the name somewhere I just don't know where.

A super chiller for lab work.
