What are the best drivers to use for the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Mb version? I'm looking towards stability/performance....if possible.
Also: Is oc'ing your 9800 Pro to 9800XT speeds the same thing in terms of performance as doing the bios upgrade to 9800xt? (if possible on the 128 mb version....)
what core does your card have? if it has the r350 then you cant flash to the xt bios, if it has the r360 then you can,
you should see around an extra 300 marks in 2k3 simply by flashing to the xt bios (using the same clock speeds before and after flash)
my 128mb 9800pro is flashed to an xt running at xt speeds and im using modified cat 3.1's, i score around 19300 in 2k1 at the min although im hopefull of 20k plus very soon :)

take off the heatsink and look for "R360" on the black core.

No other way of knowing? If i take that off, i have to re-apply some kind of thermal paste and clean it first, right?

ATITool will tell you as well.

ok, thanks, i'll try that
its not very accurate though, the only way to know for sure is to remove the heat sink and physically check what it say on the core, you will need some theremal compound to re apply to the core and the heat sink after you remove it,

Where can you get the bios for the xt and what program do you use to flash it?
