I just got some old socket 7 cpus and don't know what the speeds are. How do I tell what the original factory setting frequencies are on the cpu? Some of them don't say. I know that certain models come in different speeds. Can someone help me??

thanks

The speeds should be coded on the processors themselves.

I have a Pentium MMX - 200 MHz, and there's something on the backside of the die that reads:

"FV80503200"

IIRC those last digits are the processor's rated speed. This is a 2.8V chip so maybe they're the same. I will check Intel's site to see if this is correct.

If you guys don't figure it out I have some old S7's at home I can look at to compare. But I won't be home for a good bit 10pm EST.

Do a search on the chip numbers if you can find any. The easiest but most time consuming way would simply put the CPU in a board and reset the config to default. Not sure if you would want to go through all of that trouble though. Are you planing on selling these CPUs or are you simply curious as to what speed they are?
