I just found this at ocmod.com. I was wonder if anyone has built something like this before. How does this work? It says to remove the probe head off the Senfu Digital Thermometer. After he is done, and have 5 pair of connectors, where do these go? He didn't mention? Do you just tape these down? Or is he adding probes to the end of these wires? Or is he just joining the connetion and gettin a reading that way? I am abit lost here, but I really would like to build something like this.:(

What a great idea. Unfortunately he fails to mention you need to buy more thermistors to use at each position. Anyone know what resistance the Senfu thermistors are? I think I want to build one of these.

I was wondering about building this, but I had one problem, you can't find the flat thermistors. Kina makes some of the monitoring i would like to do problematic.

If you want to save yourself some time look into a device called the Digital Doc 5. I just bought one of these and its worth every penny. It mounts in a 5.25 drive bay and monitors 8 fans and 8 temperatures. It comes with 6 regular thermistors and 2 flat thermistors. You can also program it to turn fans on or off at certain temperatures. It also monitors fan rpm, unfortunately, you can't adjust the rpm's with it. But its great for keeping track of things inside the case.

If you are interested, just go to yahoo shopping and do a search for "digital doc 5". I paid about $70 for it, but I also didn't have to spend hours putting it together.

Laters.

I have heard good and bad things about the Digi Doc. I have thought about it but have mixed feelings. I don't need fan rheostats only the temp monitoring. Would be cheaper to make my own, but then the digidoc is easier.

Flat thermistors are availble and I don't care for the Digidoc at all. Give me a knob I can turn and feel where it is as opposed to haveing to look at what my fingers are doing. Kind of like touch typing.

I have read about problems with the digidoc also. It was something in the line of turning fans on and off if you don't config it just right. In turn making the fans die. But I think with fine tunning it should do what it's suppose to. But I don't really like the dogidoc because of the extra connection = more wires. My PSU cables is already a hassle. I am gonna go to a local radioshack and try to find the flat thermistors.
