The team has grown in recent weeks/months and everyone has been doing their part to contribute so we are going to create some additional increments on the Milestones page.

Allan came up with the great idea and starting next week milestones be setup as follows: 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20000.

A little more incentive to keep contributing to a great cause and a great team. FOLD ON! :)

Well I like it its something for the new members but maybe the 50 WU mark is a bit too low. Someone with a tbird could churn out that in less than a week.

how about 2500 instead of 2000? just a thought.

You've hit the nail on the head. It really is for the new members. We want to keep people sticking around, folding for the OC.com team, feeling like a team.

If the team get's huge and it starts to become too much work, then I'm sure we might change it up a little but it'll be fun for now. :)

Sounds good to me...Allan, any objections?

It sounds like a great idea. The 50 unit thing sounds like a lot of work for ya, but I looked at the stats and roughly 1/3 of the people folding for the team dropped out before reaching the 50 unit mark and nearly half dropped out before 100. It may provide just enough incentive to at least hit a small milestone, and once you hit the 50 mark 100 is not so far away. :D

Sounds like a good idea to me and like Ploaf said hopefully will get less people dropping out.

Ok I was looking at it from the fact that it would be a lot of work for you. Sounds like something that might work. I'm for it. You have http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/images/icons/icon14.gif http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/images/icons/icon14.gif from me

Excellent observation!!! That's exactly why we're gonna give it a shot. :)

None whatsoever. 2500 seems mighty fine. Add 30k, 40k and 50k to the list as well, it will give stanman something to shoot for! :)

About the 50 units milestone: When people reach a milestone, they think "Great, I can't wait to hit the next milestone as well", and it is our hope that it will keep just a few members folding for a while longer for our team...

Fold on - go nail those milestones! :)

For stanman just put "God Like" and update the status to stans current wu count every week :) or if by some grace of god somone passes stanman then that person gets to be God Like :D

you could also substitue god like to top folder if you want

Thats a pretty good idea! Or, we could do something like the top 3 or top 5 producers. What'cha think?

Just curious :)

Is there any way to tell how long someone has been folding?

I care about the guys at the top. Stanman does deserve "God Like Status" But the guy who has been doing 5 wu a week from the begaining or for a long time is just as important. (I don't know when this team started) and if we can tell how long someone has been folding they should get a pat on the back as well.
I joined OC in April and strated folding shortly after. At last up Date I've done 2646 WU. But I run eight cpu's folding. The guy (person) who has been folding from the begaining is the one I look up to. Not many people can afford more than one computer and to dedicate that machine to folding is a ture team player. er..... Folder.
I'll take wu 1 at a time or 1000 I want to see OC Folding Team in the number 1 spot.
For all the team members Thanks for Folding.

There's a lot to be said for someone who can and will buy machines just to contribute, but you're right. The *individuals* who fold on their home computer when they can are extremely valuable. This is the very heart of DC. The whole idea was to harness the power in the spare cycles from the millions of individual machines, either on the internet or within a company's network, working as part of a collective that could provide ample computing power to solve some of our more complex problems. That is what makes the individual user with one average computer so important to these projects. It's not just one person with one machine. It's 20,000 (or so in the case of f@h) individuals, each of us with 1 machine(or 2 in my case), each of us contributing our small own small pieces of the puzzles, to further the goals of these projects.

I believe Eriksson, Daniel an myself are some of the first folders here. We soon decided it was worth the effort to make a stats team...
