After thoroughly browsing this forum and other sites, I finally overclocked my AMD 3200+, now running at 215 X 12.5. :D

The problem arises with my RAM; it is PC2700 and I have managed to overclock it as far as to run at 180 MhZ... it doesn't like going any further than that, which is a problem because my CPU is at a faster bus speed.

I think the solution is going to have to be "buy more RAM"; my motherboard is an Asus A7N8X deluxe, so unfortunately it only supports up to PC3200.

1). Can I expect to be able to overclock PC3200 RAM to run at 215 MhZ?
2). Is it worth buying 1 Gb of RAM? Currently I have 512 which performs well, but seeing as I am upgrading would it be worth doubling it? I am a student and so I don't have huge wads of cash to spend on components, and seeing as Corsair PC3200 is about £110 per 512 MB I only really want to dole out the extra cash if it would be worth it.

3). Better to buy 2 X 512 modules or 1 X 1024 module?

Forgot to add:I plan to run Half Life 2 and Doom 3 on this machine, if that helps a decision on the RAM thing.

1) If you get the right RAM you should be able to, its better to run Socket A systems at a 1:1 FSB:RAM ratio anyway.
2) I have 1 GB of RAM and I would definately recommend it. Also to run HL2 and Doom3 smoothly, you are likely going to need it.
3)I would recommend 2x512 so you can enable dual-channel mode.

Good Luck!
