What model number is your computer? That will give more insight as to whether or not you can put DDR 400 in it or not. My guess is, no.

I just checked Dell's website & it says the Dimension 8200 takes RDRAM or Rambus memory. RDRAM MUST be used in pairs. Easiest upgrade would be to get 2 more 128MB sticks of PC800 RDRAM for a total of 4 sticks. I've had very good luck with Samsung RDRAM. I've been running 2 sticks (256MB ea.) at 140 FSB (up from stock 100FSB) on my Abit TH7II-R for a very long time now. Unfortunately, from what I've seen, Dells are difficult to overclock.
Good Luck!

I have an 8200 motherboard right now, and ya it is for sure RDRAM 800. Actually, I have the ram from my 8200 on ebay right now :D

Edit: Wait wait, my 8200 has a 1.7 ghz CPU, did they make like a Rev 2 8200?

Whack.
