I got this Sock7 mobo for free, but it had a broken front leg on the old AT keyboard port. I broke out my soldering pen and vacuum tool and extracted a newer one from an old board I destroyed. I've never done anything like that before, but when I finished and tested, it worked!!! I am so happy.
I am loving my vacuum tool. I'm getting the hang of it.
Anyone know how to test and see if a keyboard port is working properly and all the connections are good?? is it one of those things that just doesn't work if one of the connections is gone? or does it just show up as errors in typing or whatever???
Any help would be much appreciated. So far I am quite pleased with my job.
