Yeah its a large file but I think its worth the wait rofl. 1200gph of water tower power! Sure hope the clamps hold hahahhaa....
So maybe not all water setups are quieter than air...

Believe it or not, that's not the biggest bong cooler I've seen. My friend made one from 12" PVC, it's almost 8 feet tall, with 2 120MM fans at the base, and 3 showerheads at the top. He even took the time to paint it chameleon orange.
I wish I had a digital camera, it's really a sight to see (And hear. Sounds like a waterfall)
Arg I have been defeated! Oh well I tried :-(....
I cant stand the noise the 1200gph pump makes anyway, I have a little 300 I am going to use instead and get rid of the damn cooler, something a bit more managable :-).....I just wanted to see what I could do lol

You'd think the sound of tumbling water would drown out the sound of the pump. =)
But isn't that one of the benifits of the bong? A mini waterfall in your room, soothing and relaxing you? Isn't that why you buy those water fountians? A bong is just a water fountian put to some more use!

Yeah a "normal" size water tower is quiet and relaxing. A sponge in the bottom of the tower will eliminate almost all of the water fall noise leaving you with a near silent system!
This beast on the other hand has a rather noisy 1200gph pump and a 5ft drop, not exactly quiet lol....

That's a REALLY good idea! (The sponge) I'll pass that on to my friend.

How about making a bong from one of these to really upset the neighbours? :D

Well this is what I ended up with with a smaller pump (I think its around 220gph or so but I am not sure). It still has plenty of pressure. Its a "Little Giant" I dont know if they are known for being loud or quiet but its not exactly silent. Who makes the quietest pumps? I assume it would be a mag drive type?
The other source of noise is the falling water. I find that the sponge keeps getting soaked and will just sink and therefore stop working, maybe I need to just fill the base with sponges till they cant sink?
I also have a pretty crap shower head hehe, has maybe a dozen holes, not exactly a fine mist.....
But considering what I have to work with it does its job. When first started it idles at around 26 or so maybe with a max around 40-43. It goes back down to 30 very fast but cant seem to get back to sub 30....
Also strange to note that I can unplug the pump for well over 5-10 minutes without a change in cpu temp (if its idle of course). Also pointing the shower head into the side of the pipe (so the water just runs down the side) doesnt seem to have any real effect on performance. This makes me think that my shower head sucks :-).
Can anyone recommend a rather cheap head that has a top mount (not the arm type) and a good misty spray?
Thanks for any input! Wee this **** is fun to mess about with lol....

I wonder if anyone has created like a water fountain and used that. It could decorate a room.
Yeah some day if I get creative I was thinking of doing something like that, but then I would want a fish pond and I dont think my waterblock would like having fish **** in it, cant imagine it would help the cooling abilities....

I'm sure a boiled Mongolian Golden Carp wouldn't taste very good.
