I just saw and article at rage3d.com and it says in an article for tweaking the radeon that the pixel shader version can be selected. 1.0 & 1.1. Weird! I thought that the radeon only supported an older version. Does this mean that it can actually run the nature test in 3dmark2001?

Ive heard about a an unofficial driver out there which enabled PS1/1.1 for the Radeon. This had something to do with the drivers team wanting to test what they can do with some of the Radeons EMBM hardware regards to pixel shaders.

Mayby they are planing on somesort of semi-software-hardware support for PS with Radeon. Alltought they said theyve given it up, I recall.

Yeah well I hope that they actually get those pixel shaders to work. I'm not gonna spend $300 on a graphic card ( Radeon 8500) for a card that's pretty much the same as a GF3. ATI YOUR PRICES ARE TOO HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll just stick with a regular Radeon with a non-existent pixel shader that they said was there and overclock it like hell (whiwh is pretty much the Radeon 7500, still too expensive!). Those pixel shaders better work sometime soon cause they seem to already be in the drivers in the registry so it would be cool if we could get some 3dmark nature benchmark scores that will finally make those 3dmark scores fair.
