Well it's time for me to invest in a hole saw/kit. All I really need is a hole saw to cut holes for 80mm fans, but I found this:

More bang for the buck. What do you guys think?

looks pretty sweet and for only 10 dollars to
i say go for it.
i am not sure but i think that kit would work for 120mm holes too
try to post your results/pics with that kit if you get it.
i might get one too :)

Includes sizes: 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1 1/8", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 1 3/4", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2", 4", 5"
80mm = 3 1/8"
120mm = 4 3/4"
If you are up for trimming (3/4" trimming using 4" holesaw for 120mm), go for it.

Be sure when your cutting the hole to have a piece of wood clamped on the other side of the metal, makes a cleaner cut :).

I bought one of these cheap Hole saw kits once. It was junk. and i paid $12 for 4 piece kit. That was 4 years ago. I went to Home depot and bought a 80mm size and 92mm that were about $45 for 2 hole saws and worth every penny.
The cheap one's were dancing all over the place and the hole looked like hell when i finally got through. You need real fine teeth for clean Metal cuts.

That is the same exact kit that i use.....and it works great......never had the dancing holesaw experience. maybe you should try pushing a little bit harder and maybe start off a little slower till you get the bit started.............anyways, its a decent kit, and you cant pass up the tag.
p.s. i think they sell those at harbour freight (if one is near you)

...carbon steel heat treated...
"Carbon steel" can mean anything, and is the accepted designation of low quality allows. If they'd said "HSS" (high speed steel) then we'd know something, but they make no such claim -why?
"Heat treated" - well, let's hope so! But if they can temper the steel one way, overheating in use can temper it the other way.
This looks bad. I suspect those saws are cheap because they're manufactured just enough to earn the name "hole saws".
In your position, I'd check the local hardware store to see what format is readily available in a full range of sizes/types, then buy one saw of that format/brand. To avoid confusion over alloy comparison, get a bi-metal constructed saw. These have the teeth brazed on to the saw body, so you can be sure those teeth are made of something special.
You may have to get a starter kit meant for installing deadbolts (the most commonly wanted size), then the particular saw sized for your project.
When you cut steel, a drop of cutting fluid improves the cutting performance and extends the life of your cutter. Even salad oil would be better than nothing.

Just to update you guys I did purchase this

Used it to cut plexi and it worked great. Doesn't really work on metal though, but I got a good hole saw from work to cut the metal anyway.
