I have 136 x 10 with default volts which gives me 1370, any suggestions on what to do to get it higher?
I got it to 1440 "I forget how" but it came up with windows protection error....Win 9ME
oyea I have the Abit KT7A:)
512 MB pc 133
my temps now are idle 28, full load 42C
so temps are not a real big worry now.

I have an aopen board and I have the same problem. I think if you jump the core voltage then we might get it over 1440.
Nice to O/C. How about making a sig so that we know how to help you. Having all the info will save some time. What cooling do you have? What voltage is it running at? Have you tried a lower FSB & higher multiplier?
Whats your memory cas at ? With my crucial at cas2 I can only get to fsb of 147 until I get unstable but at cas2.5 I've gone to 152 but just stop (not sure how high I can go?). I personally would rather have my memory at cas2 , just a thought.
What kind of control do you have over your fsb cause if you bought some pc150 or pc166 yopu could really up your fsb , which may keep you stable but of cource upping the vcore than you could just keep upping the multiplier which wiil make the processor mhz faster but higher fsb will definetly give you better performance.
145x9.5 = 1377.5 which should out perform 135x10.5 = 1417.5 every day of the week.
I have 137x10
default volts
I know my ram sucks, I'm ordering some pc 150.
anytime I try to go over that it won't boot.
anytime I try to bumb up my volts it won't boot.
my cooling is awesome I have 2 huge comair rotrons pushin 235 cfm each. "one blowin straight down on my chip and the other blowing straight out the front.
I'm idleing at 26C and full load is 36C
plus my temps drop SOOOO fast, after shutting a game off my temps drop back down to sub 30C in less than 12 sec......"I timed it:)"
You just answered your question there! Up the VCore & crank her up with the multiplier. Can you imagine a Ferrari with a hyundai fuel pump? More fuel for more power..................More JUICE!!!:D
On my Asus A7A 266 my vcore will not go any higher then 1.9. I could'nt get my 1.2 gig to run any faster then 1440 or so. Mainly due to the Vcore being so low. I would have to do a voltage mod to get any faster. Now that my T-Bird is dead we'll see how this little Duron 700 I ordered will due on this board. Only problem I can forsee is that with my DDR the board will only run stable in jumper mode. Which limits my Vcore to default voltage. Unless that problem changes with the Duron. I'll have to wait and see. It'll be here on Tuesday.
AlanSr - So did it work? Let us know ASAP!
I didn't get a chance to try today,
I think I'm going to wait for my pc 150 to come in."I got some server quality cas 2 commin"
that way I can push my FSB up around 145-150.
any more tips for overclockin.
I want to try now but I don't want to have to reset my cmos if it don't work.
"If you've seen my case now with these comair's on it its alot of work to take it apart.":)
