I am trying to fix my bosses computer that another co-worker has been building for him. He messed this thing up starting with a bad mod job on the PSU causing it to be extremely unstable in the 12v range. Once I installed a known good PSU I got power to all drives but the HDD and video. I soon found out that this guy decided not to use thermal paste when mounting the HSF so I used thermal paste and that fixed the issue with the HDD. Now I am still stumped as to why I cannot get the video to work. I am trying to use onboard video. I have gone as far as installing my video card in this and no success. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Thanks.
if you cant get any video at all, chances are the motherboard is dead.
make sure your POST speaker is hooked up, and make sure the CPU and RAM are good.
Also, unplug any and all accessories to the mainboard....IDE's, flloppy, usb, extra pci, anything.
make it just the CPU, RAM, and MOBO. if you cant get video, move the ram to another slot, and reseat the cpu. if you still cant get any, then something is dead, or theres a jumper setting for video you need to play with.
you may want to look at the manual for a video jumper, its always the last thing i do becauseits only been a problem for me once (whos ever heard of a video jumper?!)
but its worth a shot. Good luck, and hopefully that other psu diddnt kill the mobo...or ram...or processor.

Thanks for info. Fianlly narrowed everything down and decided that the MOBO and Processor were fried. So sending both back for replacement. Thanks
