I'm getting ready to replace the stock cooler on my ati 9800xt. What would you recomend?

Yeah, if they fit or not is a big one for me as I am going to order it online when I decide and there is nothing I hate more then haveing to return something and lose the "new hardware rush".

are you sure? how are your temps? neither is listed as compatible on svc.

I thought that the new Revolution 3 VGA silencer was made to fit the XT series, also being the entire reason for the new revolution.

Rev 1: 9500 (all but AiW), 9700 (all but AiW), 9800 (all but AiW & XT), GeForce 3
Rev 2: Add 9600 (AiW), 9800 (AiW)
Rev 3: Add 9600 (all)

So what is the final answer on this? I'm reading just as many it fits as it doesnt. I went on to newegg and one guy reviews and says it will not fit a 9800 xt and the next guy says it works great on my 9800xt.

Which part of the AIW is it not fitting?
I just upgraded the stock cooler on the 9600XT with a Swifty MCW50 and there was this resistor that was blocking it by 1mm, I bent the resistor (or whatever it is) slightly to get the block to sit flush.

I'll probably just hold onto the stock fan in case I need to put it back on at some point

i dont know about aiw cards but i do have a rev2 silencer on my 9800xt. the only complaint i have is that the back plate is just a little off center and if i ever wanted to use my s video out i couldnt

FWIW; I've hung a Rev 1 on my Sapphire 9800 Pro 256 (basically an XT).
