I want a new hd for better speed, and performance. i currently have WD 120gb caviar 8mb buffer hd. along with a 40 gb wd for stortage.

I cant decide which to get, 32 or 76mb wd raptor SATA or get SCSI hd?

but i dont know if its worthy to get SCSI hd. what i want to do is to be able to run Flight Simulator 2004 better. and also be able to run Counter-strike server.

what should i get?

Dude ur harddrives are fine if they are 7200rpm. If you want better gameplay upgrade ur video card.

SCSI - Not at all. While SCSI hard drives are certainly no slouch they are simply not geared for personal computer, not even hardcore games such as ourselves. What SCSI has to offer simply does not interest anyone on the board. For the most part at least. a 74GB Raptor will greatly improve the overall speed of the machine, and at $3/GB, it's not nearly as expensive as a SCSI set up would cost you.

2x36@RAID 0 sounds nice but most people, myself included will recommend a 74GB drive instead for reasons listed below.
1.) Improved acoustics and performance. The 74GB versions run slightly quieter and slightly faster.
2.) Denser. With only two SATA channels on today's motherboards, you want as much as you can get on each channel.
3.) Risk. RAID 0 setups are a tad riskier. If one drive fails, they both fail, and down the whole system goes. The overall speed of RAID 0 does not compromise for this when juxtaposed to one 74GB Raptor.
