Just curious, I'm getting kinda bored of running Intels all the time and I've never used an AMD 64 yet. How fast do they spit out WU's? Does the cache make a big deal on the higher end models like the 3200+'s?
They're not that great for Seti when compared to a P4 with HT. I currently have 2 - a clawhammer with 1MB cache and the other is a newcastle with 512 L2. The cache does help some, but even the 3200+ at 2400MHz does less than my P4 3.4 at stock speed. It puts out maybe 14-15 per day tops, whereas the P4 does 17-18 consistently. My 2.8 prescott does even better, putting out 19-20+ per day. If you want a good cruncher stick with the P4C's.

That's what I figured. Thanks.
You could just replace all your p4 c's with presshots and then in the winter you dont have to use a heater bc you have a farm of presshots and your finding et!

Nah, prescotts are sweet. I love mine.
They really aren't that hot, in fact the motherboards are more of a concern than the chip itself. I recently upgraded the cooling on my 3.4C and 2.8E to thermalright 947's with 40cfm fans. Using the same cooling setup the prescott is only 4C warmer under full load than the 3.4C, with the 3.4 at stock and the prescott at 3500.

Yeah my P4P800 is telling me that my Prescott 2.8E is only at 34°C using 1.5 Volts @ 3500 MHz full load, so it's not hot at all. (Maze4/Caprice HC).
