I want to tap into onboard SMBUS and there are no headers available.
Plus I don't have the balls to solder to my motherboard or mushkin ram...
My plan:
take a dead dimm, sand off all the edge connectors except for SDA, SCL and GND
epoxy on a little connector, solder up the 3 pads, and presto-bango plug-and-play smbus interface.
so the dimm doesn't need to work (heat spreader removal failure?, too much vDimm, mishap with a screwdriver...)
Anyone?
