Does anyone know how high a voodoo 2 could go and still be stable? my voodoo2 is at my friends house and i havent had time to go get it.

I had a voodoo 3 PCI card that would get up to 190GPU and 190Memory. The two were synchronized so you couldn't adjust them seperately.

I believe the voodoo 2 was a different chip. I found a good Voodoo FAQ here (http://user.sgic.fi/~blob/Voodoo-FAQ/). About halfway down there's a bunch of info on overclocking.

I'm sure someone that has actually owned the card will reply also so..keep tuned :)

I had a 8 meg Creative Labs Voodoo2 PCI card. I was able to overclock it a little, but it was so fast in games of the day, it was pointless. By "a little" I mean 95mhz from default 90, as I recall. I didn't do any kind of cooling mods or anything tho, and the case it was in had just 1 crappy 80mm fan- bad airflow- this was before the overclocking bug bit me:D.

When Q3 came out , it got like 30 fps at lowest settings, 800x600- playable, barely- really ugly too. OCing didn't make a difference at that point so I traded up to Voodoo3 3000.

That card was a crazy machine tho, it was 2x as big as any other card I have ever had, it rocked hard for the day. It still plays most games pretty well at low res.

Geez, Monster of Rock. You just hit me over the head with Nostalgia. I'd been using my good ol' PII 450 (w/ Monster II) up until I assembled my latest rig this summer. Despite everything, I still have to say that I liked my Monster II. Also before the oc bug bit me too.

SUN OF A BITCH! ok i just got my voodoo2 to an *amazing* 99 mhz with 3 active cooling units. and it :mad: Fried:mad: like bacon. Oh well. There goes another victim to the overclocking bug.

yes i still have a voodoo 3 3000 PCI which i have at 197 mhz it dosent help much to OC it becuase its PCI , but since im OC my ram , my bus , PCI(37 mhz) , CPU , might as well OC the vid to

and all voodoo cards r OC able :)
