There are motherboards for dual P4s. One is the SuperMicro P4DC6. The dual P4 chipset is called the Intel 860, and operates with Rambus memory. However, all P4s EXCEPT Xeons have the SMP mode disabled on the chip itself. There is no hope of using a standard P4 in a Dual board. Only the Xeons will work. These boards are prohibitively expensive, let alone the cost of the Xeons :o
Gotta admit, though.....a dual P4 Xeon setup would be pretty Schweet!
Unfortunately, motherboards from manufacturers like SuperMicro are not bound to be overclockers' boards the way an Asus P4T is. They are mostly designed with the Server and Workstation in mind, meaning that a high number of features and stability are paramount.

How much is a dual p4 I always wanted to dual up my 1.4 = ) plz reply with a link if you could for the mobo for dual and price if not , thanks for the reply :P
Sorry, but you can't use your existing 1.4Ghz P4 unless it's a 603 pin P4 Xeon. For dual operation you have to use the P4 Xeons which come in a different package than the other P4s. P4 Xeons come in a 603 pin package.
As for a motherboard there is the Supermicro P4DC6 that has already been mentioned. You can see it here. (http://www.supermicro.com/PRODUCT/MotherBoards/SUPER_P4DC6_SPEC/SUPER_P4DC6_SPEC.htm) For prices search on pricewatch. Anyway, I can already tell you it sells in the $600 to $700 price range. There is also a couple of other dual P4 Xeon boards out there. Iwill makes one and Tyan makes another. I believe they cost about the same, if not actually a bit more than the P4DC6 and if I were gonna get one I'd get the P4DC6 anyway. Word has it there will be a version of the P4DC6 released real soon that will be the same except it won't have the onboard SCSI controller and will be just a bit cheaper. The SCSI less version will be called the P4DCE and I have seen at least one place that supposedly already has it aavailable for preorder. Don't get too excited through as it seems to be only about $100 cheaper than the P4DC6.
As for the price of P4 Xeons there is suppose to be a price drop coming on August 26 along with the introduction of a 2.0Ghz version.
If you're aching for a dual machine, get a Supermicro P3TDE6 and a pair of P3S chips - better performance than a 1.6GHz dual P4 xeon for way less money. Or go for a dual Athlon - even cheaper for similar performance.
