Looking for video card

I'm building a new system and trying to decide on a video card. I want something thats gonna run dx9 but I dont have to have all the 'eye candy' on.
Been looking at the 5900xt/se for around $170 or the 9600's or the 5700 series what would you get? can always upgrade card later. I know I can get a 5700(le) for around $100. Like to save a few $$ for other parts(proc,dvd-r,memory,etc.)
9600-$130
5700(le)-$100
5900xt/se-$170

Stay far from the 5700 LE,it is terrible and shouldnt bear the 5700 name.

The 5900XT would be the fastest but a 9600pro/XT would look alot better if you find a good price.

I like the 9600XT if the price is far enough from a 9800pro.

fx5700 ultra beats the 9600xt in that pricerange if you ask me

I've had both cards and yes the 5700ultra is a bit faster on benchmarks
But during actual gaming there isnt much difference.

Except the 9600XT has much better IQ,So thats why I like it better.

Since he says "I dont have to have all the 'eye candy' on", an ordinary 5700 or 9600 will do so that money can be spared for the rest of the parts.
