just bought the antec true430. im running a overclocked 3.2c p4 @ 3.5(220 fsb, hopefully 260+ when my new ocz 4200 sticks arrive) on an Abit IC-7 Max3. 4 hds (2 of them are raptors w/ vantec vortex hd coolers). 5 Case fans. a radeon 9700, and one dvd burner. I know very little about power supplies, but I did as much research as I could and I went for this one. I put it in and everything seems fine, but my mobo is reporting a vcore thats generally around .5 volts lower than what I set it at in my bios (if i set it to 1.6, it reports 1.55 in abit EQ) and it reports the 12v to generally be around 11.61-11.67. I don't know maybe this is normal and has nothing to do with my psu, but I like to address any concern I have early, in case I need to correct anything, so don't run into any potentially harmful issues in the future.

Thanks alot guys, and sorry for any stupid questions (I'm new :-/ )

You're probably ok. Search the forum to see how accurate Abit EQ is and if the Max3 reports correctly. A lot of boards don't give an accurate reading.

My True430 still has POSITIVE voltages running on my heavily overclocked system.
I know it's a different hardware platform, but it's about the same load

Athlon XP 1800+ @ 2.4 GHz
512 MB of pc 2700 @ 210 MHz
NF7-S
Radeon 9800 Pro @ 430/750
Two hard drives
Two opticals

My 12v line is something like 12.08 under full load (far cry)
My 5v hovers around 5.07 under full

The only way to really test your voltages is with a multimeter, but rest assured, your true430 is quite fine.

Oh, by the way, Welcome to the forums!

I would think you are pretty close to maxing out your PSU though.

Don't use software to report voltage readings on the rails. They are terribly inaccurate. Use a multimeter.

As for your CPU vcore, Abit tends to undervolt. My NF7-S undervolts by .5 so I have to set it .5 higher to get the vcore I want.

dont mean to threadjack, but does your true430 seem to run hot? the case of mine seems to heat up pretty fast.
