View Full Version : 200fsb @ 266fsb?
I read somewhere that you can run a 200mhz FSB T-Bird @ 266. Is this possible with an IWILL KK266R? It handles both 200 @ 266 FSB. I thought I read the article here at Overclockers, but can't find it now. Can someone help me please? Thanks.
Just change the fsb to 133.

If your CPU's multiplier is unlocked, it's a fairly simple process. All you should need to do is a)move a jumper to select between the 200 and 266 FSB setting or b)set the default in BIOS. Then, make sure the CPU multiplier is set to a reasonable setting. If you have a 14 multiplier set for a 133 FSB, that would make for a 1.86 GHz Athlon! woah! Although this isn't possible, it would probably be in your best interest to start at a lower multiplier and work your way up until you start to encounter problems. Then, it's down to tweaking core voltages, etc. to tune your machine for max performance!
Good luck and hope this helped!
Kinda reverse of your topic but I tried to run a 266 1.2 in a 200 board before which I thought would work. Basically like underclocking (fsb anyway). I couldnt get that machine to run fer nuthin. Tried loading different OS's multiple times and it always crashed. So I changed the CPU for a 200 and away I went.
Thanks guys! That's what I had done(changed jumper to 133Fsb), I just wanted to make sure that was all I needed to do. I appreciate the help.
