View Full Version : 1.65v max
Is 1.65v a good max point for overclocking a northwood, with an air cool set up, or should it be lower? Thanks.

I'd ask the Intel boys in the Intel CPU forum.
What's the stock voltage on your Northwood?
1.525...i'll go post there...thanks.

Shouldn't hurt anything...but the Intel dudes will know for sure.
Thanks...I went there and got an answer.

Yea get brand-specific questions in the right forum ;)
Just for measure, 1.65v is the highest i would want to go on air, all considering your temps of course.

Just a quick note. 1.65v is considered the max 'safe' voltage for Northwoods when using air cooling. High end air you might try 1.7v but I wouldnt mess around above that without some good phase change etc.
