I bought me a mx board for the time being until after i move, then its a geforce 3. but nayways, im an unreal fan and thats pretty much all i play. I used to have an S3 trio with a voodoo2 in my computer but now i got a 3D prophet II and everytime i go to play unreal tourney i'll be playin, and after like 10-15 minutes it freezes up. now i was really careful when i installed it, i deleted all 3dfx drivers i could find and my primary video card drivers too. My MoBo is agp 2.0 complient(I think) so its not that, what i think it is, is that theres an IRQ conflict, i took at look at my settings and sure enough there my NIC on irq 5 along with my Prophet and 2 steering holders, now my question is, how can i reassign irq's? ive looked in my BIOS and nothing. there was one thing though in my BIOS its sez i can assign IRQ for VGA i enabled it and then my NIC mysteriously stopped working! So i disabled "assign IRQ to VGA" and my NIC works again!? Whats goin on here? can anyone help?

oh and i have a jetway 542b MoBo, 100mhz FSB, 5.0 multi

hey man i had same prob and i fixed it by setting the driving value of agp to ef and installing the latest 4 in 1 (from via)

this might not help as my geforce is a hercules and i have a kt7a

bu you should be able to reasighn the irqs in windows by dissableing the auto assign function off fo that specific device in the system propertys of the device bu this might make no diffrence anyways good luck

UT rocks

He He :) It is a Hercules card..3D Prophet is Hercules marketing slang. Anyways, I have the same card. I'm not a huge UT fan but you made a good pick IMHO. The Prophet 2MX uses faster 5.5ns memory than most 2MX cards. Anyhoot...another thing to try would be to move your NIC card to another slot..thereby giving it a different IRQ (as long as auto is still enabled). Did you already try that?

Yeah ive tried that but then it magically trades IRQ;s with my modem, i hink im gunna take out my NIC, and if i really need to ill buy an older ISA NIC. i think i might have one layin around. How would i go about changing the driving value?
ive alos tried changing them in windows but i uncheck the "use automatic settings" and then i highlight interuppt request (IRQ) and i click on change settings and it sez "Theis resource setting cannot be modified"

im gunna try different slot for now though :)
