A few weeks ago the university that I get my DSL through screwed me. They changed to DHCP and turned on a firewall. Now any PC that logs in to DSL (that I pay friggin' $30 bucks a month for) gets checked out before it can log on to the internet. If it has not been correctly set up to access the network, then it gets sent immediately to the university's security server.

So both my computers are set up to work, but now I can't get my wireless router to work at all.

I have a Netgear MR314. It has nowhere to put in some of the configuration information that I got from my ISP.

The computers can hook up and see the router, but when they go through the router to get internet data, I get shunted to the security server every time.

Has anyone else come up with this?

Here's what I've got for setup info:

IP Name: myusername.dsl.university.edu
Hardware ID: [six two-character hex characters] 00:ab:2f:22:0b:a0
my name: Joe Blow
My email: jblow4@university.edu

Any ideas on how I can configure my router to get through to the internet?

If I can't figure something out soon I think I'm going to have to get a cable modem.

Do you have to log in every time? If not, see if your router supports MAC spoofing. If it does, use one of the computers MAC IDs for the router.
