Can a pump made for gas be used for fluid? My friends and I found (long story) a pump that is made for pumping propane and we were wondering if it could be used for pumping water (as in for a water cooling setup).

Thanks,
Steve

well - it's not something I would try in MY sysem. easy way to test it though: get some tubing, attach it to both input and output, then put the input in a container filled with water, and aim the output in the container. I wouldn't keep my hopes up, but let us know how it turns out.

propane is A LOT lighter then water.
propane pumps are simply not designed for it, and ur more then likly to kill the pump.

yeah, I took it apart and realized that it would currode (sp?) very quickly. It does put out a LOT of air, though. thanks for the help guys.
