Ok, I've thought about this before a few times and it just makes sense to me. My HSF and PSU secondary fan are less than two fingers apart. If the idea is to get air out of the machine, why would I want these two fans so close together trying to blow air in two different directions? The two fans pulling against each other in that small space has to be creating some funky negative pressure evil something or other that I dont know the word for. I would think if I flopped my Delta over the other way and let it stuff air into the PSU then out the back it would make a huge difference on that atmosphere around my HSF. Some people would say, well you'll be putting hot air into your PSU though. But any air that is getting into it is comig from RIGHT there anyhow so I dont think it would matter. I think it would actually cool the ambient temp around there with better airflow, the air going into the PSU would be even cooler.

Is there anyone else out der with a PSU so close to HSF thats wondered the same thing? I was going to try it, but as you can guess I have to pull the PSU to get the HSF off and wasnt feeling energetic enough tonight.

well the best person to talk to is hoot, what he thinks is best is to have the air intake closer to the cpu and the exhaust far away so that you supply the hsf with fresh cool air, so if you reverse the fans in your psu then you should be able to do this.....just open it up(but first touch everythjinbg inside with a screwdriver(to get all the electricity out, and of course unplug it), and just take the fan and screw it in back wards (do it to both fans)

I would NOT recommend doing this. The air coming out of the PS is very hot. You will add a significant amount of heated air to your system this way and will almost certainly raise the ambient temperatures therein. Just place your hand behind your PS sometime if you want to test how much heat comes out of it...

Yeah, I wasnt thinking of turning my fans inward that would just dump hot air into the box and hotter air onto my HSF
