I believe that a program called InCD that comes with some nero cds does it. Is called packet writing I think, not sure though.

I thought you could do it just without software. i really want all my school stuff on one CD not millions of floppies!

you need to use a software to format the cd-rw so that it is read like a floppy, as far as I know

once you change the cd to read like a floppy, you dont need software?

Insert CD-RW disk in CD/RW drive
Open My Computer
Right-click on drive icon for CD/RW drive
Select either Quick Format or Full Format
A Full Format is usually better but if you are in a hurry a Quick Format is OK.
These disks are OK for temporary storage but do not depend upon them for important data. If you are not careful you can wipe out the data. I accidently did this once when I left the disk in the drive when I shut down. The next day after I powered up I tried to copy data to it. This messed it up so I had to reformat it. If you always remove the disk before you shut down you should be OK.

It doesn't work! When i right click on E:, it doesn't give me an option of format! It also says it's an audio CD!

It IS a cd burner right?
And if you use Nero InCD I THINK you might need to software to use it ever, but I'm not quite sure... Don't remember. The windows CD burner is probably the easiest way for this.
Also, it is possible to disable the Windows CD Burning function - could you or someone else have done that?
