What happened to the wire management? Don't get me wrong, its a very nice mod, but I enjoy a clean computer like Metaversa.
I have no idea what I'm waiting for, but I bet it's sooooooooo cool. I mean, it's called IT, right? What is it?

wowowowow That's definitely the coolest thing I've ever seen. I almost think it looks better when all the wires are messy like that.

:O OMGOMGMOGMOG THAT'S SO CRAZY. I don't mind the wires, I mean, it's watercooled, so it's all good. That must've taken sooooo long.

That is def a nipple twisted sweetness right there

I like it. But where the heck is the mobo? I can't see a dang thing. f- for wire managment. a+ for the rest.
with the goal to create a clear-cased computer where everything on the inside looked as good as the outside, and from all angles; Where cabling was a feature, not something to hide away
That answer the questions about cable organization? Sweet case

ive seen it before. doesn't float my boat. i hate clear cases. i have had accouple for reviews and they get so ugly after a week of fingerprints and dust.

Very Nice job there . Congrats

He did a nice job with it, and I realize the cables are a "feature", but dear lord, DO YOU NEED SO MANY?
It's just ridiculous how cluttered that case is.

mobo is hidden under a polished metal plate.
if youguys are wondering, this is what Orac 1 looked like lol http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:2355gbvDrywJ:www.ghostofaflea.com/archives/001264.html+orac+tv+show&hl=en

even if you don't like the wiring, this is one of the best computer cases that has ever been built. The attention to every detail is phenomeonal. No matter if you like clear cases or not, or think it is too cluttered, you would be just plain stupid not to admit that this is among the elite of computer mod projects.
that case has been my fav case of all time... i think its just totally awesome. Wish I had one.
Just too ****en sweet!
i remember reading the articles on that wondering wehn it would be finished. thanks.
it does look cool, but i wouldnt want it in MY house.
the attention ot EVERY little detail is insane, read the entire article sometime.

A lot of work, time and effort went into that, but dang that's a busy case.
Stealthing the mobo? I'd like to show it off. :p
Nicely done for it's purpose though.
Schweeet!!!
That is absolutely beautiful work there! Top rate design I say. I don't find it too busy at all. It is somehow Borg-like and also reminds me of Doc Oc from spiderman series.
Was it in fact inspired by Orac in Blakes7 ?

yes it was. read the article start to finish. thats just the first page of part 5, each part 10-12 pages long...i cant seem to acess part 4 though, i havent read it yet...last i checked it was just 1-3. Gah.

I thinik the exterior looks great but I really dont like the fact that it has so much tubing. Sorry for you guys who liked it but I think a computer must not only look good but also perform, and I think that that much tubing = no airflow ----> no overclocking.

Im a bit dissapointed. The case was lookign so clean and simple yet the complexity was amazing, if you understand what i mean. Now it looks just Uhhh cluttered and dumb looking. I can't believe he did that much it realy did ruin it :(.

umm, its water-cooled, so he could get a higher OC than, say, your rig...
and at any rate a 3Ghz P4 is gonna perform
TheNewGuy143
06-16-04, 08:24 AM
But still he could get a lot more power but he will not and dont talk about my rig im a poor 16 year old kid. BTW ill soon change the board and have it cooled by a cascade SS im sure itll perform.
looks like it worth a million bucks!

No offense THe NewGuy143 but he has his system up and running now, you dont.
Very awesome job, major prop. Like others have said i wouldnt want that case, but it is amazing non the less. Major props and i cant wait till orac 4 =P

actually he said he is going to overclock it in the bit-tech forums, so I guess he will...

06-16-04, 03:23 PM
I have never said it wasnt amazing, i only said that I would not build a system like this(sure and dont have his skillz and time) but even if I had I wouldnt build a system like this. Sure it looks good but ive seen better looking computers.

Me Wants!!!!
But it will be a pain in the ass come upgrade time though.
Hahah lol. I would go for a bigger case or less wires.guts should be shown, Not wires
IMO anyway. I do like it though. And i'd rather have an 64 FX 53 939 pin. lol. but nothining wrong w/ a P4.

well on one hand I can respect all the hard work, effort, dedication, and most of all MONEY that he oput into the project.
But on the other hand Im amazed how it can look so tacky and unkempt with all those complicated and ingenious designs, i understand the tubing was supposed to be the maion point but its just too much chrome, it all just blends together to look like a ig shiny mess. and as for the case, it has so many awesome, innovative features but it looks like any other acrylic case only with a nice front bezel, this is mostly because the tubing obstructs everything, it makes it so all you see is silver tubing.
Sorry for those who love this but its just meh to me, and I was just wondering, what happens if he ever needs to get to anything insdie there (judging by the way he installed his HDDs he will).

that is a beautiful machine. upgrading will be a bee-otch and i doubt anything else can eb fit in there, but that is the most visually appealing comp i have ever seen and probably ever will, unless an ORAC4 gets made...
But still he could get a lot more power but he will not and dont talk about my rig im a poor 16 year old kid. BTW ill soon change the board and have it cooled by a cascade SS im sure itll perform.
lol saying your a poor 16 year old and then saying your going to have your rig cooled by a cascade ss.... kinda controdictory dont you think?

I think you should have called it "T4 - He comes back in a box" =)
Awesome job man. I absoultely love it. Some may say it lacks wire management, but I think you managed just fine. That look is killer. It makes ya wonder what the %$#@ is going on inside that computer.

i have seen it half done before....but after seeing the entire rig done....OH MY *#)(#&$ GOD....this is awesome. "do you know he used shower steel pipes to give that mechanical look"
I feel like I'm going to turn into that honeycomb dude... Meeee waaaaaaanttttttt...
i had just about given up hope that this was ever going to be completed.
excellent job, i love the attention to detail

Nice case, just too many cables for me.
The only problem with it is that you have to don a safari cap, and machete to change your RAM.

06-22-04, 10:32 PM
I want one too :temper:
Excellent looking case...but meh...i don't like the wiring at all...in fact...i personally think it ruins the entire look of the case...then again...i think modern art can be rather retarded sometimes too. Not to bring the guy down, he has more skills than i do...but if i was gonna make an acrylic case with such a clean look to it...i would incorporate that into the wiring as well....
i think it would almost be cooler if the guy had made an acrylic case where you COULDNT see any wires, and they were all masked into the frame of the case or something...THAT would be cool....altho it would also look like a mac
That case is amazingly well designed and most likely accomplished everything he wanted it to. I really don't think he'll be able to squeeze much out of the board in the way of overclocking. He's not going to have hardly any airflow over the board to keep the mobo cool. I didn't notice how he has his NB cooled but anything that is having to rely on air in that case is SoL. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome, it's fantastic, but it's not a computer I would use, because when I build a computer I think go, then show. I highly doubt he'll ever upgrade that rig either, I wouldn't...I'd save myself the time and trouble and build a new rig. It's not like he's going to ever be junking that rig anyway, everything that is in that system was designed to fit in that system. That's the type of computer that you build another plexiglass box to suround it with and never plug it in. That's the kind of computer that is just meant to show off your design and follow through talent. Some people just care about the performance and don't care if they throw a uber comp in a beatup 1996 Compaq Presario case, and some people just build computers just to build them and make it more into a visual art form. And some people find a meld between the two. To each his own.

I think it looks better with all the crome wires messy than clean!
