no need for this any more.
I know of several people who swear by Borland. Probably better than MSFT stuff, but I am not too sure. the msft stuff seems to be pretty good.
sorry about that.. done

Delphi, or C++ builder?
I am not a borland guy, but I have Delphi installed and I am currently trying to learn.
I know VB and some VC++
Now its time to learn ObjectPascal With Delphi....
Yea. Used to do a lot of code in Turbo C++.
That was before we had these Visual things and we had to do a lot more housekeeping.
My Avatar is a pic from a old game I wrote, I still play it on occasion.
If anyone wants a copy I could zip it and attach it.
Unzipped it is only 201 KB

Oh, yes.. where can I find a working (at least trial version?) of borland? I tried downloading it from CNET, and it was the appropriate size, just didn't work.

Aww.. darn. But thanks, miaof.
That's out of the question for me. my school only teaches VB.
Any other suggestions, anyone?
A few years ago I got me a copy of "Turbo C++ Programming in 12 Easy Lessons" It has an educational version of "Borland's Turbo C++". If that's what you're looking for I can send you a copy of the disk if you'd like. Just lemme know.

Thanks for the offer, eobard. I actually just got a copy of my dream compiler - MS Visual C++. But I will let you know if I get angry with it, which could quite possibly happen.

Get yourself a copy of the MSDN Library. It is two DC's.
It will come in extreemely helpful when trying to develop C++ applications.
